Back with a blog

For the first time in years, I find myself wide awake at 1:00 AM wondering what to do for the next couple of hours by which time sleep would, finally, bless me. No, I am not complaining; In fact, I think I am enjoying this bout of Insomnia. The confusion I have has to do more with choosing what to do than finding what to do. All of a sudden, I find myself having a lot of time at my disposal and a lot of things to do as well; reviving my blogging habits being one of them. I am back here again, to write on my favourite subject - Me !

The past couple of months have been a revelation for me. Having had to work on multiple things, with moderate success, it dawned upon me that I wasn't as bad at time management as I thought. So when last week, finally, I crossed out the most pressing one from my list, I decided to dedicate time for things I had wanted to do for some time. Now this, is typical of me. I don't think any of these things I mention here would, in any way, be of interest to me in a couple of months' time. There would be new new-found loves then. But for the moment, these are the things that keep me awake so long.

One, I have a list of movies to be seen. There is Kieslowski's Trois Couleurs - Blanc which I would love to see immediately having been blown away watching Rouge and Bleu .Then there is his own Dekalog series, eight of which remains to be seen. Also in the list is Jodorowsky's El Topo which Basu suggested some time back. Though he warned me later against watching the film, the curiosity factor is still intact. Then there are the ones that I left midway through - David Lynch's Blue Velvet and Mulholland drive and Bergman's classic Seventh Seal.

On top of that, on one moment of madness, I decided(At the risk of sounding geeky), to get deep into Linux. The result is that I am poorer by about 1.5 K and richer by technical jargon(which, by the way, makes little sense to me). What I have beside me now is 'Linux Kernel Development' by Robert Love. On the shelf are 'Understanding Linux Network Internals' by Benvenuti and 'Hacking Linux exposed' . Also, open in another tab in my browser is 'Programming Linux games'. Let me admit that I have no idea what any of these things mean and going by past experiences, it's highly probable that in a month's time, you wouldn't even find a mention about Linux from me, let alone the books.

If these were not enough, my 'relatively old new-found love' - the Rubik's cube, can still keep me busy. Though I had learned some of the algorithms, good enough to solve the cube in 4-5 minutes, I would still like to master the Freidrich method and other speed cubing techniques. Gaurav had sent me a link a long time ago and I've not even had a look at it till now. If time permits, it would be interesting to understand how Lars Petrus works, though it seemed not so straightforward when I had a look some time back.

And oh ! I forgot to mention; Office !

These are not all. November brings new troubles as well before which I have to buy my HD Camcorder and PSP Slim which makes me think where from I would find the money for all these. Maybe I should leave those thoughts to the next month and enjoy Insomnia. Till 1 AM tomorrow ,
